The earlier posts on this site serve as a place for friends and onlookers to come and experience my travels to the Middle East, Caribbeans, and Europe. A few years ago I returned from an 11 month stay in Europe where I reached 26 different countries. My mission was to serve the natives, become familiar with their customs, travel the locations of Jesus’ movement, and endorse the art of nature. All of which I believe I met–some better than others. Please tell me of your tales abroad and provide any suggestions for future adventures.
Since returning in July 2012, I have traveled across America, to Iceland, the French Riviera, from Amalfi Coast up to Milan (with stops in all the western regions of Italy), to Dubai, and safaried in Tanzania. But that has not been the objective of my life. Rather, in December 2012 I received my B.A. in psychology and moved back to Southern California where, for 2 years, I committed myself fully to enjoying life apart from required studies. During this time, I fought a 15-month-long illness, worked with children with Autism Spectrum Disorder, and volunteered as a Suicide Prevention Hotline Counselor in Los Angeles. Now, I am living in New Orleans, pursuing two masters: an MA in Marriage and Family Therapy and an MA in Christian Apologetics. I’m still figuring out my voice as a newly married twenty-something, but write when conviction inspires a message.
My call in life is to minister to youth in crisis and teach their parents how to better engage. Through my every breath, I believe, God is affirming His Fatherhood in lives of the fatherless, misunderstood, and abandoned. He continues to call me into nations across the earth, to invest and engage in cultures far different from the one I grew up in. Through my travel, I continue to learn of new family traditions, relational dynamics, and communication skills. One day, God will establish a retreat center where these cultural understandings will be the fabric of the therapeutic environment for clients to come and be present with God, as He is all-knowing with all people, everywhere. Until that day, I worship Him knowing He is faithful, that my Good Teacher is guiding me, lighting the way.
